Burry Port is one of the larger towns in Carmarthenshire on the south coastal strip between Carmarthen and Llanelli. St Mary's, the Parish Church of Burry Port, is a fine Victorian building, built in the French Gothic style. It was the gift of George and Mary Elkington - the five bells were in thanksgiving for their five sons. The Bells have been silent (just chimed) for 25 years. We have brought them back into action this year (2008).
