We have 20 groups spread throughout a large area of south Wales covering the old counties of Dyfed, Glamorgan and Gwent. These stretch from Aberystwyth to Haverfordwest along the West Coast and almost to the River Severn in the east, with groups also through the beautiful Black Mountains.
Many groups ride all the year round where there is the use of an indoor arena and many with only outdoor facilities benefit from the lovely scenic views of Wales.
Each county holds fun day events, Gwent having enjoyed a visit from HRH The Princess Royal in 2006. Pembrokeshire College holds an annual Charity Show at Bowlings Riding School in Haverfordwest with riders from the groups which meet there competing.
Longacre Farm at Coity, Bridgend owned by Mr & Mrs Ladbrooke is the region’s only purpose built RDA centre and hosts the regional qualifiers for horse and pony competitions, a summer camp for riders of the Coity Group and many of the region’s training days and meetings.
We have an active driving group in Cwmbran and a recently formed dressage group in Carmarthen which caters for more advanced riders (mostly with their own horses) to train for and compete in dressage competitions.
We have a great team of volunteers to make it all happen but we always need more to join us at our weekly sessions or fundraising activities.
Come and join us - it’s a great way to make new friends, keep fit and learn new skills. Ask for more details of how you can become involved as a rider, volunteer or fundraiser.
